The taxation of the mandatory PER (Retirement Savings Plan) varies according to two criteria:

the reason for releasing the funds (primary residence, life event, retirement),
the origin of the sums invested (deductible payments, non-deductible payments, premiums, CET, or mandatory contributions).

Deductible payments :
- Capital : subject to income tax, exempt from social security contributions.
- Capital gains : taxed at the Single Flat-Rate Levy (31.4%) = 12.8% income tax + 18.6% social security contributions, or option for the progressive scale.
Non-deductible payments
- Capital : exempt from income tax and social security contributions.
- Capital gains : taxed at the Flat Tax Rate of 31.4% (12.8% Income Tax + 18.6% social security contributions), or option for the progressive scale.
Bonuses or CET :
- Capital : exempt from income tax and social security contributions.
- Capital gains : exempt from tax, but subject to social security contributions of 18.6% .

👉 This case benefits from very favorable taxation and concerns all types of payments (including mandatory contributions).

At retirement age, the mandatory PER can be liquidated as a lump sum or as a life annuity .

- Capital gains : taxed at the Single Flat-Rate Levy (31.4%) = 12.8% income tax + 18.6% social security contributions, or option for the progressive scale.
⚠️ Funds from mandatory contributions cannot be withdrawn as a lump sum except when the total annual pension is less than €1320.

Deductible payments and mandatory contributions : Free Life Annuity scheme.
- The annuity is taxed as a retirement pension, after a 10% allowance (capped at €4,399 in 2025).
- It is also subject to social security contributions.
Non-deductible payments, premiums, CET : Onerous Life Annuity scheme.
- Only a portion of the annuity is taxed, depending on the age at the time of retirement:
  - 70% if you are under 50 years old,
  - 50% are between 50 and 59 years old.
  - 40% are between 60 and 69 years old.
  - 30% after age 69.
- Social security contributions (18.6%) are applied to this taxable portion.
